Today was an “at sea” day. We cruised into Endicott Arm. The ship moved up the narrow fjord to the glacier; it was cloudy with rain, but the views were still spectacular. We watched from the forward deck as we approached the glacier. The ship turned a full 360 degrees so everyone had a chance to see the views. Numerous waterfalls cascaded down the steep mountains surrounding the glacier and icebergs floated past. It was beautiful in spite of the weather. So beautiful that I (Cathy) didn’t have the heart to go inside. It was too cold to just stand and watch, so as the people on the deck retreated to warmer areas of the ship, I walked around the bow viewing area. Basically, I walked out of the Endicott Arm fjord. It was wet, but I was dressed for it and throughly enjoyed my “hike”.
After lunch at LaTerreza we meet up with Kevin and Chris. We did a little cultural exchange and taught them how to play euchre. They were quick learners. The weather improved a bit in the afternoon so we walked around the jogging track before dinner. Mountains sailed past in the distance and the sun tried, but failed to make an appearance. We had dinner at Atlantide. It’s one of two dinner places that doesn’t need reservations, the other is Asian cuisine and the menu doesn’t quite appeal to us. The fish and filet at Atlantide has been good, but this menu doesn’t change so today we decided that the ship really needs a pub, or Mexican option. I hate to say it but I’m getting tired of filet. We caught a beautiful sunset from out belcony before heading to the panorama lounge for a drink and a show.
