We got a good nights sleep and caught up from the night before. We woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed. We packed up our bags and left them at the appointed spot in the lobby for transfer to the ship. After a quick stop at the hotel cafe for coffee and a bagel for breakfast we walked over to the Egan Center to get a spot on the bus to Seward. We had time before catching the bus for a walk along the coastal trail. The road between Anchorage and Seward was beautiful. We saw one moose and the driver told us about the area. We were surprised by the amount of snow on the ground, everywhere, not just on the mountain tops.
After passing through ship security we boarded the ship and found our suite We had lunch with a couple from New York we met while waiting to catch the bus. Our suite is nice with a balcony and plenty of room. Two TV’s! We unpacked and got settled into our home away from home. Our butler, Jason stopped by to see if we needed anything - we didn’t.
We explored the ship before having dinner at “The Grill”.
This restaurant is outside with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, but rather chilly. They gave us blankets and turned on the overhead heaters which made it more comfortable. We ordered the hot rock and cooked our fillet mignon to our liking. It was the first time we’d used hot rocks at a restaurant, so it was really neat, with the added bonus that the rocks kept us warm. We went to see a couple of different live music venues before turning in for the evening.
